Art Exhibit at the Town Hall
Mint Hill Arts is pleased to announce the opening of our First Quarter 2023 Exhibit, “My World in Watercolor,” at the Mint Hill Town Hall. This exhibit features the work of MHA member Judy Mizell.
Ms. Mizell works in transparent watercolor on rag paper to achieve detailed renderings of nature, garden scenes, landscapes and people in candid, “slice-of-life” situations. During a thirty-five year career, she exhibited and sold her work throughout the eastern US. She has received numerous awards and is a signature member of the Watercolor Society of NC and the Georgia Watercolor Society. She and her husband, Romie, have traveled extensively to provide her with ideas and subject matter but her inspiration is frequently found in her own garden. All of her paintings are her original ideas done from the reference material they have gathered.
She has been an active member of Mint Hill Arts since 2008 and teaches at her studio in Mint Hill NC. About her work she says “I hope that my art will speak to the viewer about some of the natural wonders of our fragile planet and the need to preserve them for future
generations.”
The exhibit will be on display through the middle of April. It is free and open to the public on weekdays during regular business hours. The Town Hall Gallery is located in the rear of the building upstairs and downstairs.
